About Me !
Hello! My name is Jen McNairy. As a proud mother of four—two sets of twins born just three years apart—I understand the challenges parents face when a bright, capable child struggles in school. Before starting my family, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Finance and worked for a global investment management firm. I gladly paused my career to raise my children, never imagining I would one day dedicate myself to specialized math instruction.
That journey began when my daughter was in 2nd grade. Her intelligence was undeniable, yet her math grades and classroom performance told a different story. When I sought help, the schools’ solution was simply to have her spend more time practicing the very methods that had already failed her—approaches that only deepened her frustration and shame. It was clear she didn’t need more of the same; she needed something different.
Determined to find real solutions, I immersed myself in extensive research and connected with leading professionals, which ultimately lead me to the world renowned Making Math Real Institute, founded by the late David Berg. Since then, I have completed more than 600 hours of specialized training—through Algebra 2 content—at the Institute, and spent over 11 years working directly with students, schools, and fellow educators. Today, I provide structured, multisensory, research-based math instruction that addresses the root causes of learning challenges, not just the symptoms.
I bring this expertise to every student I work with, meeting them where they are and guiding them step by step toward mastery. I am deeply empathetic to both my students and their parents, understanding the frustration and worry that can accompany learning struggles. Nothing is more rewarding to me than watching a student’s confidence grow and seeing the relief and joy on a parent’s face. My work is not just a profession—it is my passion.
